Is it possible to add dynamic content or a merge field value to the Preview text email field?

We sometimes use personalisation (e.g. First Name) in our subject lines, which is easy to add in the email setup. We have this content setup as dynamic content, not a merge field, so we can set rules for blank fields.

I can't find a way to add dynamic content or merge fields to the Preview text section?

I tried adding the following code to the Preview text field (Actions > Settings > Preview text):

<span elqid="126" elqtype="DynamicContent" class="remove-absolute" style="display: block">

But this didn't render in the email as First Name.

Any ideas?
