Salesforce.com app - campaign status

We've started using the Salesforce.com cloud app to quickly associate contacts with Salesforce campaigns.  Does anyone know where the app gets the response options?  Sometimes it gives a full set of options and other times it gives a narrow set.  I don't have enough campaigns to see if there is a patter.
