Realtime validation on a Field using API

Need to validate a Bank branch Sort code against an API or WebService

I have a requirement to validate a field against a webservice in Oracle Fusion Cloud. Is it possible to call out to an API/REST or WebService to validate this input field, IS it possible to do this through an expression or something.
