Consolidating UTM Tracking to Standard Naming Convention

I'm looking for any examples of programs anyone has built to standardize naming conventions for utm populated fields like lead medium and lead source.

We don't use Eloqua landing pages but we have Eloqua forms connected to our website, where we have UTM tags sent through with a form submit. The issue is that sometimes our utm tags get overwritten so I can't just have a standard picklist to pull from.

Is this something where the contact washing machine could be put to use? Or just use update rules to update those fields?
