Transfer Balances to Secondary Ledger to transfer balances, is it ok to run multiple times?

Content (required):

In middle of the month (1July-15July), transfer primary ledger balances to secondary ledger and posted. Later I posted few journals in Primary Ledger (16July to 31July), If I submit the job second time.... Is system transfers only which is not transferred in initial run right? or it will transfer whole month?

If job transfers whole amount, is it required to reverse initially transferred journal which is posted?

Pls suggest best practice.
