Security or Page Customization - Hide Compensation Tab on Benefits Summary Page

The Benefits Summary page includes a tab that displays "Compensation" details for the currently selected employee. We do not want that option available generally (and specifically not for the Benefits Specialist role).

I need guidance on whether security or a page customization is needed to hide the Compensation tab on the Benefits Summary page. Any specific details about the steps and/or permissions involved are very appreciated.
