Revenue Contingency Expiration Date is Not Working As Expected when modifying

We have a requirement to modify the contingency expiration date for the AR invoice to past period.

If contingency expiration date for AR invoice is in Aug23, If we modify the contingency expiration date to Jul23 period date which my current AR open period. But when do the create accounting for this invoice the accounting date is defaulted to Aug23 period instead of Jul23 period(Current AR period open period).

But we have a business requirement when we modify the contingency expiration date to past open period then accounting should be happened in the same period, but currently accounting is not working as expected.
