Does the recurring sessions / enrollments actually work?

First, I'm hoping someone can help me see the value or use case for using recurring sessions, or the recurrence function at all. Since I have to create an enrollment for each session, and re-enter a lot of the same info like the instructor, etc. making a session recurring doesn't see to have any value or time-saving element.

Second, I never see the child sessions or child enrollments appear. That parent recurring icon and the session or enrollment appear, but underneath I never see the children.

To me it seems the best method is to create a single session, do not make it recurring, then create an enrollment, get all users enrolled and then copy the enrollment for each recurring day.
