Best practices for VILT in widgets

Looking for some feedback on working VILT into widgets. Ideally, I'd like to work them into a learning plan widget. I remember last time I tried this, users could enroll in the VILT but there was no where to actually launch the VILT from the widget. I submitted an SR and Support confirmed there was no where to actually launch the VILT session from the widget. This was a while ago, so there may have been some updates since then. (I'm hoping there has been!) If I have to use a different widget, that would work too.
