Mid-Year Payroll Balance Migration

edited Sep 19, 2023 9:06AM in Payroll and Global Payroll Interface (GPI) 2 comments

The Challenge:

Our customer's current payroll system does not capture payroll balances such as Gross Pay, Net Pay, and other statutory balances required for HMRC reporting at the assignment level. Instead, these balances for employees with multiple assignments are accumulated and stored at the person level.

Oracle's balance initialization guide for the UK (Oracle Fusion HRMS UK: Balance Initialization) recommends initializing mid-tax year balances at the assignment level, which is our standard practice for all other customers transitioning to Oracle Cloud Payroll mid-tax year.

We've already raised this issue with the concerned team at customer, and they've explored the possibility of breaking up YTD payroll balances at the assignment level. Unfortunately, they've concluded that it's impossible to extract the balances in the way Oracle requires, considering how worker assignments and balances are captured within Source System.

Howdy, Stranger!
