Summary of Elections Email Template

We are trying to edit the mail template in the delivered Summary of Elections(BEN_ELECTIONS_SUMMARY) alert and trying to include the enrollment window dates so that employee is aware till what date they can make change the elections. Noticed that date value is returning NULL when passing (EnrollmentPeriodEndDate). Also, when tried using ${AlertUtils.formatDate(EnrollmentPeriodEndDate)}, email itself is not triggering after election submitted in self service. Anybody able to add the dates in the template and confirmation triggered?
