Element with automatic eligibility is not updating element entries after employment updates

Automatic Element Entries are not updating after employment updates
Content (required):
We have automatic entry element eligibilities created using employment attributes (eg: Job, Collective Agreement, Location, Legal Employer etc.) and with defaults setup on Amount Input value.
The element entries are created when we hire employee and end dated upon termination with appropriate default values. However, when an employee has employment updates (for example Job Transfer), the automatic entry process is not updating the element entry by end dating the OLD element entry and creating a NEW element entry with appropriate default value for Amount.
