Is it possible to limit a custom role access to data by cost center??

Is there a way to limit a custom Payable's role access to data to a department or cost center??

Content (required):

We have created a custom Payables inquiry role. We want to limit the data that can be viewed to only a particular department/cost center. This cc segment is part of our Accounting Flexfield segments and so we thought we could limit access to data based on the invoice distribution. Is this possible or is there another way to acheive this.
