Unable to remove "Required Proficiency Level" field from Competencies section in Talent Profile

Content (required):

When a user is adding competencies in their talent profile, there is a field called "Required Proficiency Level". We do not require this field and are unable to remove it. Please check screenshot below. The only fields available should be Competency, Description, Plan Year and Targeted Proficiency level (The last 2 fields are flexfields we have created).

We have checked the Content Section Properties for Competencies and find that the display is set to "Hide". Where could "Required Proficiency Level" be coming from then, and how to remove it?
