page customization gets reset if there is an update on the page in new release?

Hi everyone,

I have a query regarding the customization.

Suppose I have done some customization on edit goals page (making the field read only for employee.) As we know we get updates from oracle every quarter. In any future release if there is an update on edit goal page from Oracle, will this customization be reset? Or the field will remain read only for employee?
