Trying to schedule Import Journals to run daily while GL interface is empty - ledger LOV is not populating

I am trying to set up Import Journals to run daily as we're using the SOAP call/GL Interface to post journals. Since there isn't anything currently in the GL Interface table, I'm unable to select the Ledger after choosing my source since the dropdown is not populating. Is there a way to schedule Import Journals without data being in the interface table?
