Unable to hide work preferences section from career development page.

There is a work preferences sections enabled at the profile level for career development page. But we have restricted that for a custom role this section should not be visible. Even after revoking the access, the employee is able to see the profile section at career development page. We have regenerated the grants but still no change.What is the issue here?
