Eloqua - Is a deleted contact removed from multi-step campaigns?

A contact is a member of an active multi-step campaign and is being held in a Wait Step which will eventually release contacts to the next step in the canvas.

If the contact is deleted from the database, will this immediately remove the contact from the Wait Step/canvas or does the Wait Step need to evaluate again before it recognizes that the contact is deleted?
