Oracle Linux - How to Find what Package Provides a Given File

Goal:

This document outlines the steps to find what package provides a given system file.


Solution:

If an instance is missing a package because it was accidentally removed for example:

Missing file for package cryptsetup-libs.x86_64: /usr/share/licenses/cryptsetup-libs-2.0.3/COPYING
Missing file for package cryptsetup-libs.x86_64: /usr/share/licenses/cryptsetup-libs-2.0.3/COPYING.LGPL
Missing file for package cryptsetup-reencrypt.x86_64: /usr/lib/dracut/modules.d/90reencrypt
Missing file for package cryptsetup-reencrypt.x86_64: /usr/lib/dracut/modules.d/90reencrypt/module-setup.sh
Missing file for package cryptsetup-reencrypt.x86_64: /usr/lib/dracut/modules.d/90reencrypt/parse-reencrypt.sh
