AR Credit Memo Impact in AP/AR netting

We have created an AR invoice and a credit memo in Accounts Receivable and created an invoice in Payables, while netting the system is showing error. But without credit memo system is running the netting process is completely fine with AR and AP Invoice. It is it possible to perform netting with credit memo?
