User unable to release holds

Summary:

A sales order is in holds status. The user who has to release the holds has left. Another user is trying to release the holds but he is unable to do so. By mistake they have used the order type EAE-Dealers Sales Order instead of ESN Dealer Sales. Does this affect the holds release?
