Does updating To Date for an email address of a customer will not inactivate it?

Summary:

On updating the To Date field for a customer's email address the status is still active (status = 'A') in the back end on the table hz_contact_points.

The status gets inactivated (Status='I') on hz_contact_points only if we give remove from UI.

Attached is the screenshot of the field and remove icon we are referring.

Please let me know is this the expected behavious?


In the attached screenshot the email address To Date is 19/Oct/2021 , but in the table hz_contact_points the status is active (status = 'A').

On removing the email using (X) Remove icon the status gets updated to inactive (status = 'I') .
