How to make a user defined attribute in ML(value stored is field is URL)as a hyperlink in OTM Cloud.

Summary: I have created a custom manager layout and put a used defined attribute in it. The user defined attribute stores a URL. The manager layout is assigned to the appropriate screen set and the relevant setup is done. But when the manager layout is used the user defined field does not show the URL as a hyperlink. How can we make that URL as hyperlink?
