trading partner item search order management

This question might be similar and lead to Idea creation.

It is the Status of a Trading Partner Item Number doing anything? It seems not. If empty, Active, Inactive, it will show up when searching items in Order Management.

Q1: Is status meant to do anything or just for reporting? For now I assume reporting only given test results.

Q2: Can status be shown in search so that we would NOT select it when it is returnd in Item Search? Given the DFF response I assume that would require an Idea to be raise.
