Searching a Person on Payslips UI is not returning any list of values to select the person

A custom HR specialist role has been created. When accessing the payslips quickaction under My Client group area and searching for a person on the page it is not returning any list of values to select from.

If anyone has faced similar issue, please provide your inputs it will be helpful.
