Competitor Modification or Deletion

I want to know if there is a way to Modify or Delete a competitor
Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):
When I created one competitor, it linked to an Account in CRM as the name matched. Other competitors I created did not as I did not match the names exactly. SO I have 2 questions:
- Can I modify competitors to link to accounts
- If not, can I delete a competitor (with no opps tied to them) and then add them back naming them the same as an existing account
