Managing Email Address Changes from your CRM using Eloqua CRM Integration Apps
It is a common scenario where a sales representative needs to change the email address on a Lead or Contact record in CRM. Since Eloqua uses an email address as the unique identifier, it will try to find a match using the new email address. Since the new email address exists only in CRM, this match will fail, and Eloqua will create a new record instead of modifying the existing Eloqua Contact. As a result, duplicate or inactive emails owned by the same Contact may be included in marketing campaigns.
