Sub object fields in Next gen sales, How do they work?

Summary:

I am trying to display the relationship subtab (workspace) in redwood sales. I have found the {} Relationship subobject field but it is blank. Is there another way to display the relationships for Contacts and Accounts in Next gen sales/Redwood?
