Increase COA segment LOV maximum lenght from 3 digit to 4

Hello experts,

We need to map a new profit center hierarchy, while the existing one is not sufficient in terms of the values and their hierarchy structure.

Thinking of entering new values that consist of 4 digit instead of 3 (as it is today) leaving the old values enabled but with end date them.

Is someone encounter such issue?

Read in few articles that as long as the LOV is not replaced and old values still exists there should be no issue with that.
