Can the Response type-'Date' in the Questions be configured such that it will auto populate

Summary:

If we configure a question that has Response Type as 'Date', can we configure something to have it auto populated as on current date.

Eg: If I am completing a form where I have to enter the date when I am doing this task, can we auto update the date to current date when we are submitting the form?
