I want to display custom field information for the primary contact in account

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

1.Account layouts have a standard field called Contact Phone.

2.However, for various reasons, we are not using the standard phone number at the moment, but are using a phone number field created as a custom field.

3.In doing so, we would like to display the primary contact's custom phone number on the account, similar to Contact Phone.

4.However, when I try to reference the related object from a formula field in Application Composer, the contact and primary contact are not displayed.

Is it possible to implement the above?
