Can we retrieve all the contacts in a segment using web services

Can we retrieve all the contacts in a segment using web services? We found an API where we can only retrieve the contact count in the segment, but unable to retrieve what are all the contacts associated in the segment.

Or in the other way round, if we retrieve the contact details, can we also retrieve to which segment a particular contact is associated?

If yes, please do provide the API's for the same
