Deleting a reply message in a Thread

Business Users have presented a use case where they will occasionally will need to delete reply to response messages.

Content:

I have noted the new SVC_EDIT_SR_MESSAGES_PRIV that allows the message content to be edited but the reply remains on the screen and the From, To and Sent On remain in the outbound response. The requirement is that that the reply should not be viewable on the message thread. Is there a way to delete the thread item?
