alternate of disabling notifications

Hi

Please suggest if a specific notifications can be disabled for one document for e.g. Manager evaluation notification shouldn't be notified to employee in PIP doc/template. but the same scenario is applicable to other doc like annual performance doc and the notifications should be trigged

Please let us know if the scenario is feasible and there are any workarounds to implement the same ?
