Why do we have primary location and work location?

Hi All,

When we create a requisition we have option to select Primary Location and Work Location.

Both these location appar on career site, i just wanted to understand what is the need to have these two types of locations?

I belive for primary location to appear we need to do additional geography hierarchy confirguration.

Not able to understand true business need to have more than one location types.
