Symptoms
On Oracle Linux 8 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [5.15.0] version, unable to mount CIFS shares after kernel upgrade to kernel-uek-5.15.0-203.146.5.1.el8uek.x86_64
From /var/log/messages :
kernel: CIFS: VFS: \\share validate protocol negotiate failed: -11 kernel: CIFS: VFS: \\share validate protocol negotiate failed: -11 kernel: CIFS: VFS: \\share validate protocol negotiate failed: -11
This also prohibits the use of commands such as df to query cifs mount points.
