Oracle Linux: "ABORT_TASK: Sending TMR" Messages Caused System Crash or Hang

Symptoms:

The system is experiencing crashes or hangs and "ABORT_TASK: Sending TMR_FUNCTION_COMPLETE" and "ABORT_TASK: Sending TMR_TASK_DOES_NOT_EXIST" entries are seen in system logs prior to the crash:
