how to Pension Death Benefit Flag to 'Y' in FPS

Summary:

We have a death in service benefit which is now payable longer than 2 years after the date of death, as such it need to go through payroll in order to be taxed.

The specific RTI data fields which will need to be completed on the FPS to HMRC in relation to this payment are...

Data item 244 - 'Pension Death Benefit' - we should indicate "Yes"
Data item 173 - 'Flexible drawdown taxable payment' - we should report the total payment amount here as it is taxable in full.

We were able to populate the Flexible Drawdown Taxable payment by updating the balance, but we couldn't find how to populate 'Yes' against the Pension Death Benefit.
