Manage Receivables Activities - how to delete an activity?

Within Setup&Maintenance / Financials / Receivables / Manage Receivables Activities, is it possible to delete an erroneous Activity?

Our Financials team erroneously created a Receivables Activity with activity type "Adjustments". We know from this community thread

that we cannot edit the activity type. So another Activity was created with the appropriate "Miscellaneous Cash" activity type, but on this one there is an error in the name that it will not let us resolve due to error "A document sequence category code already exists with this code name. Enter a different Receivables activity name. (AR-857116)". The name must match exactly with the corresponding name in one of our integrated softwares, so our options are limited.
