Visual Builder Add-in for Excel version update

I'd like to confirm following two points about Visual Builder Add-in for Excel version update.

  1. Is there any possibility that Visual Builder Add-in for Excel gets unusable if we don't update to the latest version in the future release?
    (Background : We will have our end users keep using an old version until we finish verification about whether the latest version doesn't have an impact to current business operations. )
  2. If yes, how can we know that change in advance?
    (As a reference, we've just received the following e-mail saying specific version of Microsoft .NET is required to keep using ADFdi. We expect this kind of "Action Required" e-mail will be sent in case that update of Visual Builder Add-in for Excel is mandatory.)
