How to update the start date of candidate using hdl?

Summary:

I have loaded a candidate with future start date due to which i am not able to search the candidate from front end. We need to update the start date to current date. I was able to update the Candidate record but not the candidate name record due to which the candidate is still not visible. I would like to know on how i can change the start date of the candidate? or else on how to delete the candidate and reload with same candidate number?
