Is there a way to mass update an alternate geography name to make it primary name in Loqate data

edited Jun 4, 2024 6:53AM in Sales 12 comments

Summary:

We are using Prefecture and City attributes of the Loqate Geography data HCM address formats for Japan.
Selecting a postal code defaults the prefecture and city with english values.

Each prefecture and city has 3 names. One primary - american english and 2 non-primary names in JApanese (Kanji and Kana)

When a user logs in Japanese, we thought the user would see the Prefecture and City in Kanji or Kana.
But, the UI shows English names only. Selecting the value in Kanji or Kana removes the postal code. Postal Code when entered, defaults the value in English.

If we update the primary flag of one of the non-primary values to the primary, the application could work the way we want (not a 100%, but will work for Japanese users).

Howdy, Stranger!
