Updating non worker benefit relationship to look at employee record

Summary:

The initial Assign Benefit Relationship process was run, and was assigned to all person types.

Issue: Person had benefit relationship assigned associating to non worker assignment. Person is now an employee and has an employee assignment, making them eligible for benefits. The Assign and Update benefit relationships process is run and it is not updating this person benefit relationship to look at the employee record instead of the non worker.

When I manually look at the benefit relationship, the employee record assignment is in the drop down to choose from. How can we get it updated automatically?
