Merged candidate with incorrect email address - email cannot be updated

Summary: A candidate has two profiles that have been merged where the deprecated profile had the correct email address. The existing candidate profile has applied and accepted an offer using the incorrect email address. When we try to the change existing candidate email, we receive the following error: Error: The record Home Email with the value (email here) already exists. Enter a unique value. (PER-1531945).

To bypass this error, a HDL was loaded to update the incorrect email with the correct email (using a Candidate DAT file). However, after completing the upload, we still received following error: The record Home Email with the value (email here) already exists. Enter a unique value.
