Absence Report Calendar

Hello Experts

I have been tasked to develop a Calendar Report that looks like the attached as the screenshot system will be replaced soon. I am uncertain how attainable it is but at the least the requirements are for the Managers of a certain grade to be able to see group wide or Business Unit absences excl. Sickness.

The application screenshot attached allows for the user to click on the colored days and see the names of the people off on that day.

Has anybody built anything like this before or know of any seeded reports that would help?
