Not possible to update Cross Reference via REST API receivablesInvoices

Summary:

Completed transactions allow to update Cross Reference from UI, but if you try to do the same with REST API receivablesInvoices the result is: CrossReference: Attribute CrossReference in view object InvoiceHeader cannot be set. Is there any available method to update cross references for already created transactions?
