Oracle Subscription Profile

Summary:

I would like to gain a clear understanding of the primary purpose behind setting up Subscription Profiles in OSM. Is it solely for fields that are not automatically populated when creating a subscription, and are we using Subscription Profiles to establish default settings? Additionally, is it considered a best practice to create multiple profiles to differentiate billing attributes, such as having one profile for monthly customers and another for quarterly customers?
