OCI - OSMH Unable to Register Instance due to "No Profile Available"

Symptoms

While attempting to register an OCI instance with OSMH via the Console, the registration fails, showing no profile available even though a profile was created to register the instance.

To register an instance with OSMH, the profile must match the OS and Architecture of the instance in question.

Cause

The issue is caused because an instance was created with a Custom Image.

Solution

  • To resolve the issue, carry out the following steps. The OS running on the instance
  • Open the OCI Console.
  • Open the navigation menu and click Observability & Management. Under OS Management Hub, click Instances.
