OSMH: Unable to Enable OSMH Plugin with Error “rpc error: code = Unavailable..."

Symptoms 

Unable to enable OSMH agent plugin in the Oracle Cloud Agent tab for the instance.

OSMH plugin shows error “rpc error: code = Unavailable desc = connection error: desc = "transport: error while dialing: dial unix /var/lib/oracle-cloud-agent/tmp/pluginXXXXXXXXXX: connect: connection refused" 

 

 

Cause 

Observabilit&Management>OSMH>Instances> check your instance status. 

Instance was in offline/unregistering mode

  

Solution 

1) Disable the OSMH agent plugin from the OCI instance page 
 
2) Go to Observability&Management > OSMH > Instances and unregister the instance from OSMH.

3) Delete the file osmh-agent-unregister from the instance if exists:
