Custom payroll flow performance issue

We have designed a custom payroll flow from scratch for our customer and it is working perfectly fine. However we noticed the Calculate Payroll task takes too long to complete when compared to submitted from the Global Simplified Payroll flow.

Any pointers would be helpful.
